Why I Started GolfIndoorPass

Golf has been part of my life for decades. As a teenager, I played competitive golf and came within one stroke of advancing through U.S. Open qualifying.

Then life took me in another direction. For 31 years, I didn’t compete in a golf tournament. But golf never completely left my life.

My journey back to the game became part of a much bigger story. I was born with epilepsy and spent much of my life dealing with seizures, medications, uncertainty, and fear.

Eventually that journey led me to awake brain surgery at UCSF. I had to fight my way back—not only physically, but through challenges with speech and communication following surgery.

That experience changed how I looked at life. I was given another opportunity to pursue things I had once put aside. One of those things was golf.

After 31 years away from competitive golf, I returned to tournament competition. My personal journey of epilepsy, brain surgery, recovery, faith, and finding purpose is told through AWAKE.

Golf Gave Me Something to Come Back To

Returning to golf reminded me how much the game has changed. Weather can make traditional golf difficult, while green fees, practice costs, and the time required to play 18 holes can add up quickly.

At the same time, indoor golf has exploded. Simulator technology gives golfers the ability to practice and play incredible courses regardless of weather or time of day.
